TACTICAL MEDICINE ACTIVE SHOOTER (TMAS) Course (8 Hours)

TMAS is 8-hour skills and scenario-based course designed for law enforcement and Tactical Emergency Medical Services (TEMS) response to an active shooter event or other forms of targeted violence.

Course topics cover the following:

  • Fundamentals of individual & team tactical movements, room entry, clearance, and security
  • Threat mitigation and de-escalation training in a force-on-force training environment
  • Medical skills related to hemorrhage control, airway management, and penetrating chest trauma

The course is certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and qualifies for 8 hours of Continuing Professional Training (CPT).

The course is also certified by the California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) as a First Responder Operator (FRO) course and qualifies for 4 hours of Continuing Education (CE).

Each student will receive an Individual Trauma Kit (ITK) included in the cost of the course tuition.
