Emergency Preparedness and Response to Targeted Violence
Emergency Preparedness and Response to Targeted Violence (EPRTV) is 6-hour skills and scenario-based course for civilians. EPRTV delivers effective response-based training which fulfill the training requirements set forth in SB 553: Workplace Violence Prevention Plan. All students will receive a tourniquet device and class lecture material. This training is conducted year round.
Topics Include:
- Lecture portion including pre-threat indicators and workplace safety assessments
- Hemorrhage control methods including use of a tourniquet
- Unconscious obstructive airway management utilizing airway maneuvers and recovery position
- Run, Hide, and Fight Skills
For educational institutions and houses of worship with a school, grant funding may be provided by the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal-OES) and the Central California Intelligence Center (CCIC).
