ADVANCED TACTICAL MEDICINE – MODULE A
The Advanced Tactical Medicine Course (ATM) is 40-hour skills and scenario-based class that occurs over 5 days of training. Training includes practical scenarios, force on force training, and use of firearms and tactics.
ATM is designed for law enforcement, paramedics, firefighters, and other medical professionals who are assigned to a tactical team. Graduates of the course will qualify as either a First Responder Operator (FRO) or as a Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) Technician.
All instructors have backgrounds in Law Enforcement Tactics, First Aid, Tactical Medicine, and Firearms Instruction. All instructors are POST approved in their respective areas of expertise.
Topics Include:
- Elements of team tactics and response
- Tactical Emergency Medical Services (TEMS) integration
- Concepts of Rescue Task Force (RTF) deployment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical care
- Weapon safety and use during close-quarter battle (CQB) operations
- Elements of mass casualty care and evacuation
Course Certifications & Approvals:
- The California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (40 Hours – CPT)
- California Emergency Medical Services Authority (20 hours – CEU’s)
- California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal-OES)
- US Department of Homeland Security
